Application of Machine Learning to Finance
One particular good application of machine learning to finance that has been talked about in the last few years particularly by Dr. Marcus Lopez de Prado was the technical meta-labeling where we want to use it to predict whether a trade is going to be profitable or not based on the traders own past history. That's much lower signal to noise ratio and also that has little less fear of arbitrage because everybody trading strategies are different. And that is a many people have found to be a much better use of machine learning in finance than just directly to predict the market.
