Is That a Correct Interpretation of Your Work?
Todd: I think some people interpret your work as this living of contradiction or, you know, we're talking to Helen Rollins. It's a kind of stoicism living with what you can't have. Todd: Is that the worst interpretation? Todd: Yeah, I would be a bad Hegelian if I was a stoic, right? Todd: The idea of stoicism as a retreat and as like sort of a plistidity is not really a retreat from the world. But it is a sort of acceptance of that the real world is within - isn't that the stoical idea? And so I'm going to turn inward rather than finding it something outward.
