The Role of Tradition in Innovation

Ama: I think that's just extremely confused about the role of tradition, namely the tradition of criticism. So i don't think that undoing a whole bunch of them in rapid fire, it's necessarily going to be a recipe for a better society. What are the traditions and institutions within our society that allow for open ended progress? Yes, we need to value the individual. The individual is the prime origin der of ideas, and we need to protect that. But how we go about protecting that individual is a whole other question.
