A paper from a research group in Canada looked at different papers where they compared heat loss and submerging up to the neck, which is 11% less than dunking the head. When you then also dunk the head you will increase that heat loss rate by 36%. That's meaning that you are closer to hyperthermia you are if you just submerge up to the Neck.
