What's the Difference Between Mysticism and the Occult?
The mediaeval christian mystic movement was a lay, non monastic group. Unlike the franciscans or the dominicans, she didn't affirm monastic vows. They were never under the authority of the pope, which was an issue. The spirituals came out of augustinian tradition and are also personifying love.
