Is a Type 1a Supernova?

A type 1a supernova has precisely the same light curves. They are all different sorts of supernovae. All such white dwarfs explode at precise the same mass producing exactly the same luminosity and brightness. The big star is sucking material from the small star. Eventually that big star goes beyond a certain limit of mass which causes it to explode as a supernova.
