How Do You Craft a Really Good Ear?

When we're young our auditory system hasn't even finished developing. It's not even fully online until just before puberty age 8 to 12 and that's when the brain says All right, I got to tighten down these last nuts and bolts because all hell is about to break loose with puberty here. So for most of us unless we have formal musical lessons, that's where our music listening development basically stops kids are about 11 years old Perform music perception tasks about the same as adults unless they have formal musical training or Foreign languages bilingual so If they're taking music lessons their auditory system is getting more and more developed and they become what I like to call auditory athletes.
