Don't pontificate, which is kind of an old fashioned word for stop lecturing people. Another one is to use open ended questions. People's attention spans are short, and they're getting shorter. We've been studying listening for well over half a century. If you're not doing it, then you're not having a conversation. Andyou kind of say that all of the other steps are really about how to listen better. But it it needs its own step.
