The Importance of Education for Autistic People
"The report found barely get to year 12. I got to uni, studied law, but I didn't graduate," he says. "I couldn't navigate that neurotypical system anymore." The next priority is Improving education, employment and health services for autistic people. And the final one is establishing a national autism research agenda. What really resonated with me was about uni, college, higher education. There aren't a lot of specialist schools out there. Mainstream school is often the only real option. It isn't good enough. Not getting better is, in my opinion, a legal breach. Do it now.
