When you're putting in orders and getting the e k g in front of you at the same time, you're not actually multi tasking. What you're doing is very quickly switching your full attention from one task to the other. If it's not critical for you to stop and address the secondary task, go ahead and finish that primary task so that you can give both of them your full attention. And i think it's important to clarify we only task switch in the emergency department.
