Ethereum's Restaking Mechanism
The goal of restaking is to broaden the reach of Ethereum's trust security mechanism. So if you're validating another chain and then you do something bad with that blockchain, then this ETH that you have staked gets slashed. If a given valulator could be validating 10 different things it could get paid for each of those things that it's doing. It's easy to imagine why that can be lucrative because you can build a variety of services on top of Ether5.
