Curtis: I'm almost wondering if Aliah Cain was a plant from Thrawn onto Moff Gideon's team to get an inside trial. It could just easily be explained as something as simple as like, you know, she's just an agent for Thrawn and you see Thrawn talking to her via hologram or something.
