Chon Taurung's Laughter
Chon Uchi, the magician, was determined to beat this joke absolutely to death. Every time he passed Chon Taurung in the street, he bowed, never turning his back to the beggar. On one particular morning, after Chon had left the square, Chon Uchi leapt onto a wooden crate and addressed the crowded street. He knew what they thought of him. Laugh all you want, but only those with real wisdom knew the truth. The challenge was to see it.
