Renting Versus Owning

Even when we talk about owning and doing air quotes, like a home, we're paying the mortgage on it. People desperate to own or have things will pay out of pocket each month for those things rather than save up to buy them. I could see the economics of the future changing where the same TV today that might cost $600, the price simply rises to $5,000 over the course of five years.
