The Iron Age Hill Fort in Old Serum

Old Serum was a central node of Iron Age England when Julius Caesar arrived. The Romans captured this and they turned it into a garrison. Two large settlements soon sprang up outside the Forks walls. Sadly nothing really remains that you can see of these Roman sites, Roman settlements. Everything else is underground or it's been mined by subsequent house builders. But the fact these settlements existed illustrate one of Rome's great legacies in this part of the world - urban living.
