Syphilis - What Are the Symptoms?
There are a few specific organs that it tends to infect, like preferentially. But it can invade almost any organ just by swimming its way through your blood stream. The primary stage usually presents within three weeks of infection. And then it can also lay latent. So between the secondary and tertiary phase, you can have years long latency where there are bacteria there, but you don't have active disease so you wouldn't know that you're infected.
