The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana
Around 50 volunteers came each day and it took four long days to finish. In total they managed to shift 80 tons of shells. The coalition to restore coastal Louisiana have been monitoring another living reef that they installed a while back. They found that in five years the erosion in that area had reduced by about 50%. It's only being done on a tiny fraction of the coastline so it would need to be scaled up significantly to make a big difference.
