John Owen is in my mind really the preeminent theologian of the among the Puritans on pneumatology. He's trying to give an exhaustive treatment of the Holy Spirit, both his person and his work. There's the volumes that we're talking about here today. And then there's his primary treatise on the Holy Spirit as these five smaller treatises that make up volume seven and volume eight.
