The Origins of Trevination in the Ancient Near East

Archaeologist Rachel Kalisher led an analysis on the excavated remains of two, assumedly wealthy, brothers who lived in Megito. She discovered that shortly before one of the brothers died, someone had performed a specific kind of trevination on him. We don't know why this guy did it, but there's a similar procedure today called a craniotomy that's used to treat brain tumors or aneurysms.
