The Importance of the Global Church in Our Theology
I want to be Catholic in the sense of universal. And that means I need to pay attention to the church down through the centuries, but also in other cultures. The most important lesson I think I learned from Andrew Walls is this, that theology begins when you have to translate the gospel into another culture. This is the way we learn. As we understand how this people understand the gospel, that our understanding grows as well.
