The ruins at Yonaguni are believed to have been built about 10,000 years ago during the last Ice Age. Masaki Kimura is a professor of marine geology at the University of Ryukyus in Japan. He founded a group devoted to proving that Yonaguni is not a natural formation as it would appear to be but is rather a man-made structure.
