The First Things Will Never Be the Same

Officer David Davis was held up while passing a building into which two highwaymen had dragged another victim to rob him. The man escaped when Davis became engaged in a fight with the robbers who apparently suspected he had arrived to interfere. Officer Loving says he was accosted by debt who pointed a pistol at his head and ordered him to throw up his hands. G.W. Dent of Wabish, this county and T.W. Martin of Morgan City are in jail here charged with having attempted to hold up special officer William Loving.
