The Importance of the Death of the Firstborn
There's a very strange suggestion in this text which is that the first born of the of the people and the firstborns of the animals should be sacrificed to God. In order to avoid that you redeem your firstborn with something else right? So why is it that the death of the firstborn in Egypt is also pointing to the idea that all the first borns belong to God, he asks.
