The Speedy Trial Act and the Ends of Justice

Under the speedy trial act, you are supposed to go to trial within 70 days of an indictment. But in terms of discovery and those things we were just talking about, you can really obviate the need for an extended amount of time by turning it over. This isn't an investigation that's been done in secret in this case. Both Mar-a-Lago and the January 6th have been publicly known for some time. There's no reason Trump and his lawyers couldn't already be preparing for that.
