The Power of Observing in Nature
I wanted to ask you as I always do with my guests for a little bit of homework, a little exercise. So I'm wondering if you have a bit of homework that some somebody can try to kind of move their creative practice forward. Most botanical illustrators don't actually get out and sketch in nature. They do it from specimens or in their studio. That's what I would challenge people to get out and observe and record in nature. And then spend 15 minutes recording it. Whether it's words or one sketch. Maybe it's the robin that was singing or the beautiful rose that was growing in the garden next to your new door. Oh, I think they did an awesome
