The leading cause of death is now guns among people under 19 years old. There's a public health concern with 400 million guns floating around our society. At some point do we enter into this? We talked about mutually assured destruction, where we needed to keep building massive weapons that could destroy the planet because the soviets were doing the same thing. And as a society, have we gone from deterrence to this is no longer acceptable because the public health cost is too high?
