Eating more protein is going to increase IGF-1 levels and then this increases risk of cancer. There are IGF-1 receptors on some cancer cells and that's going to stimulate growth. But I feel like where we have that human evidence and a strong body of evidence is that muscle loss being associated with a variety of more negative outcomes, including survival. You want someone to survive from their cancer and not have toxicities and not have frequent hospitalizations. So maintaining muscle is going to require protein. That's just the fact of it."
