Voters in Brainerd, Minnesota approved something like 15 million 20 million for a new performing arts center. There's a state grant for theater to come in and there's a stateGrant for bands and musicians to come in. "I'm very skeptical of the system because I think it prioritizes the wrong milestones," he says. The growth in how much public funding goes out to arts institutions in Canada is coming from giving more money to loss making projects due to cultural impact or social capital that they may have.
