US Air's Convertible Preferential Stocks Are Probably Worth $358 Million
Berkshire made five private purchases of convertible preferred stocks during the 1987 to 1991 period. The company paid $600 million in 1989 for Gillette shares that were adjusted into 48 million common shares. Berkshire has collected an aggregate of $240.5 million in dividends, including $30 million in receipt in 1997.
