Is the Buddha an Nihilist?

The Buddha quite explicitly says... It's this thing about the middle way, right? Which is that sometimes you hear the middle ways described as being the path between asceticism and hedonism. But I think in the earliest suttas, or the ones that we think are the earliest, it's actually between eternalism and annihilationism or nihilism. So it's kind of neither Atman or self, right?
