How Much Time Has Passed?

I thought that they were doing a flashback to Mando becoming a, or Din Jaren becoming a Mandalorian. Then obviously once they got outside the cage, I realized it was not. But because then you saw some characters we had seen previously and it wouldn't make sense for them to be there. It makes me mad that they don't just let us watch these in the theaters every Saturday morning with a group of people.
