How Much Control Do the Mall Owners Have Over the Look and Feel of Their Stores?
The owner of a mall can say you can't have, you know, plastic decorations outside your store. You can't put up Christmas decorations until one week after Thanksgiving. All of this is within the purview of the lease agreement with the mall owner. So I think what the mall owners are trying to do is give each brand the space to showcase itself and then not compete so that they can be in terms of sense even with the stores that are adjacent to it.
