How Do Special Needs Children Affect Household Investment Decisions?
Married households believe that female children are more of an insurance policy and more likely to take care of them. That might be a similar situation with a single mother with a male child, h that feel more comfortable than, you know, her son would be more likely to taking care of her if something went bad. Although it's worth noting that for single mothers who had only male children, they were the ones who increased stock holding. They were the ones with less risk aversion when they had onlymale children.
