Babur's most immediate threat at that time was rest of Afghan factions to the east. Rajputs have seen their numbers swell from the arrival of refugee Afghans and are now advancing on them. Rana Sangha could not have imagined Babur's armies would get the loadees to fold so quickly. He may not have expected Babur to be as successful as he did. But I think the lead up to the battle of Kanwa in 1527 shows it very clearly that RanaSangha did immediately understand the threat that Babur posed and moved as fast as he could to be able to do it.
