Psalms 1 and 2 set the context, then it's sort of a prologue, sets everything up in the Psalter for what is now to come as Robert Helphily noted with the Psalms of David now coming Psalm 3 and forward. Here in Psalm 2, the wicked kings of the nations of the Gentiles, we might say, and then the righteous king that is set upon God's holy hill, Psalm 2. And so they plan to rebel against the Lord who has said, this land is the land that I'm giving,. I am the Lord their God and there shall be no other gods before me.
