I think it's true to say that often British people are rather badly informed about Irish politics, whereas actually Irish grew up learning a lot of British history as well as Irish history. And I did realise at that moment how important and how far back this story stretched not just to Bloody Sunday, but to all the issues and problems before that. So definitely, that was a moment when you felt, well, I wouldn't say the hand of history was on your shoulder, but you didn't think about the historical context in which you were active.
