The Horror of Marlow Kurtz
Marlow meets Kurtz in the Congo, where he is breeding freshwater walrus. Marlow gets gravely ill himself and very nearly dies on the return journey to Brussels. He finds out that Kurtz was also a musician as well as a painter. The story ends with Marlow's epiphany: Kill this man's head but leave his body alive.
