Bank of England considers forcing foreign banks to replace branches with subsidiaries. MOVE is part of a review of the recent collapse of Silicon Valley Bank. New rules are hoped to ease the handling of failed international lenders. But encouraging more banks to set up these daughter companies or subsidiaries, whatever you want to call them, will likely be super unpopular with the industry.
