Fiscal Stimulus and the Fed

If the strength from the economy is coming from the fiscal side, does the Fed have the tools to rein it in? Can they do anything if it's the fiscal stimulus that's driving not monetary? The fiscal and monetary are again both are two arms working together. If you're independent as they supposedly say about the Federal Reserve mandate, you should feel independent enough to criticize the fiscal policy when it interferes with your monetary policy making.
