The Stoics saw the universe as permeated by basically being an organism. The idea of following that has something to do with accepting one's fate, even when it's unfortunate,. It's sort of the laws of the universe are executed. We will things to happen as they happen, because it's according to that sort of nature. That's why I think their metaphysical position is best characterized as pantastic.
