Emily bender is a linguistics professor at the university of washington. She's also a junct professor for its school of computer science and engineering. We as humans have a lot of skills that we build up through our lives to interpret language. And they are centred around taking the point of view of the person whose language we are interpreting. When we encounter synthetic language, we can't help ourselves but to imagine a mind there isn't one.
