Xing or LinkedIn? Which Is the Better Platform?

Xing have announced very recently that they are stopping their what's called event market, which is just like LinkedIn events. They're closing that down as well from early next year. And according to Xing, the company's goal is to focus more on the area of professional orientation for members. It sounds interesting to me in that I think what they're trying to do is focus their attention on other areas.
