I would say that I generally feel prepared for job interviews, etc. when it comes to knowing the software. It's like you get a general conceptualization of how code works. We might introduce a class that is like a sprite or a character that has a set of stats and then they might have, certain characters might have specialized stats. But that type of application is much closer to what we might find in reality. Sometimes someone will ask me about how to debug them not the answers to questions that are in a given problem set. They answered a lot of Stack Overflow questions in order to learn about specific software.
