Beyonce hadn't released an album in a really long time, at least like a solo album. And I think that she saw herself coming into a personal renaissance. It's like remind ourselves what it is to be celebratory and alive. She also feels like her most recent albums have been very purposeful about kind of the archiving and the excavation of black music and culture.
