Scottish Landlords, I'll Save You Rob From Lots of Anger People Writing in From Scotland

The land and buildings transaction tax has been increased from 4% to 6%. The surcharge in England and Wales is 3% in Scotland now 6%. But the amount of extra revenue this is going to generate for the Scottish government. 34 million pounds is hardly anything in the scheme of national finances. It might be popular for winning votes, but it doesn't help people who need places to rent.
