The Gospels Are Not Written to Follow a Narrative Chronological Timeline

The Gospels were not written to follow a strict narrative chronological timeline. These stories were put together to help us taste and get a sense of the Kingdom of God who Jesus is. The idea being that if something bad happens to you, if there's a bad accident or an infirmity or some physical malady or mental disorder or something's wrong, then that's a sign of divine disfavor. You've clearly done something wrong and the gods in a Greek context are punishing you.
