The Importance of the Gospels

"The words I say to you, I do not show you. I speak them on my own authority," Jesus says in the Gospels. "I'm here passing through to you the words of the Father so you can hear" The Gospel is why we have four books: it's for documenting what God is like and how he would respond if confronted by someone who didn't share his views.
