Is There a Cost to Bringing in a New Contract?
In the US at least working in a new state has additional costs than working in a state we already operate in. So if someone sells something in New York, there's no like expense that's added to the system for setting anything up. But if someone brings in a contract in like Michigan, we have to spin up a whole new system there. And depending on where you are in the company, you're probably gonna have to think about certain ones more than others. Yeah. It is kind of. Well, it's inventory in terms of some cost to or not some cost in terms of opportunity costs.
The goal is essentially to increase net-profit while increasing return on investment and increasing cash flow.
Today we’re discussing The Goal by Eliyahu M. Goldratt. It is a business novel that Eliyahu used to introduce the “Theory of Constraints”, a sort of meta-theory for business (and life, really) that you can use to advance the output of just about any system. It is very much a “zero-to-one” book, where you’ll see the world differently after reading.
