The Battle of Plymouth

Lord High Admiral Charles Howard was tasked with commanding the English naval forces when the Spanish armada approached Great Britain. Drake boasted of metaphorically cinging the King of Spain's beard on his heroic return, but warned that his actions would only delay Spain's inevitable invasion. In all, Drake's fleet destroyed over a hundred Spanish vessels and returned to England, laden, with captured booty.
