Bertha Bracy's Quakerism During the Economic Crisis of the 1920s

As a young adult, Bertha Bracy became a Quaker and went to live in Germany during the economic crisis of the 1920s. She was influential in helping Jewish children to leave Germany and come live in Britain after the Crystal Act in 1938. The former Prime Minister also helped launch Lord Baldwin's appeal for families to emigrate from Nazi Germany.
